Vijay Rajvaidya:

Vijay Rajvaidya, Managing Director and CFO of India Currents—an award-winning publication serving the Indian American community—is a seasoned Silicon Valley professional with over three decades of experience in the high-tech and IT sectors. But beyond boardrooms and business strategy, Vijay is driven by a profound dedication to India’s cultural and spiritual heritage

In a remarkable personal and spiritual journey, Vijay has undertaken a Padyatra—a pilgrimage on foot—across approximately 9,000 kilometers (over 6000 miles) to visit all twelve sacred Jyotirlinga temples of India. This arduous trek is not just a testament to physical endurance but a deeply symbolic act of devotion, exploration, and education.

Outside of his professional and philanthropic pursuits, Vijay’s interests are as diverse as they are impressive—he is an active Rotarian, a literacy advocate, a theater actor, a licensed pilot, a mountaineer, and a certified scuba diver. With an MBA in finance and graduate degrees in engineering, he combines intellect with action, constantly bridging worlds through passion and purpose.

Maj. Gen. Shashikant Pitre (Retd.)

A postgraduate in Military Science and a Master’s in Engineering in Structures, Maj. Gen. Shashikant Pitre was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army in 1962. He participated in the 1965 and 1971 wars and the IPKF operations in Sri Lanka in 1987. He also commanded an Infantry Brigade on the Sikkim Border, an Infantry Division on the Western Border, and was Chief of Staff of the Army Training Command.

Since retiring from the Army, General Pitre has built a formidable reputation as a writer on Military Matters. He has authored over 11 books in Marathi and English. His military biographies of Bajira Peshwa and Chatrapati Shivaji received the Maharashtra Government Literary Awards in 2021 and 2022. Most recently, he was awarded the first Lt. Gen. P. S. Bhagat Chair of Excellence Fellowship, which resulted in his latest book, The Victoria Cross Icon: Vision and Legacy.

His achievements do not end here.

He was the Founder Chairman of HORIZON, a charitable trust of Indian ex-servicemen dedicated to humanitarian de-mining, accredited by the United Nations.

Most recently, he has been an active member, participant and Director of The Walk of Life Foundation – a mission dedicated to promoting the cause of holistic wellness, the generation of awareness of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and the spread of literacy amongst the youth through the programs of the Walk of Life.

General Pitre and his wife, Meera, are residents of Pune, where they continue to make a huge impact and difference with their positive contributions to their community. 

Anand M. Halbe

Anand Halbe has been a Hi-Tech Industry professional for over 35 years, focusing on customer-facing roles that have exposed him to customers and markets spread across three continents (North America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa). He has held leadership positions with well-known international companies such as Sun Microsystems, Motorola, TCS, Olivetti, and Bull, amongst others.

After returning to India in 2008, Anand co-founded a young start-up company focused on delivering customised solutions in the world of ‘Predictive Analytics’ and consulting/mentoring/nurturing young start-up entrepreneurs in Africa and India. His focus has been on business strategy and Go-to-market readiness building. He is presently a part of the Mentoring Program of the Social Innovation Lab of the Pune International Centre.

Most recently, Anand has taken a leading position in The Walk of Life Foundation – a mission dedicated to promoting the cause of holistic wellness, the generation of awareness of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and the spread of literacy amongst the youth through the programs of the Walk of Life. His role here has been to support the creation and building of an organisation that will execute the vision and goals of The Walk of Life.

Anand’s interests include music (plays over 3 instruments), sports, and geopolitics. He lives in Pune with his wife, Shubhangi.
